BOUNCING BACK Barbalu Opens its Large Dining Room Tonight by Greg Morabito

Hurricane Sandy destroyed Barbarini Alimentari, but two of its owners, Stefano Barbagallo and Adriana Luquereopened the space last fall as a new Italian restaurant called Barbalu. Stefano and Adriana have been serving guests in the restaurant's cafe space for the last few months, but tonight — 469 days after the storm — they will finally open the main dining room. The menu includes salads, pastas, and entrees like veal scaloppine and potato-crusted salmon, and so far the early word is very good.
